Random World: The Adventure Game on hiatus

by on Dec.15, 2010, under Entertainment, Gaming, Random World, Roleplaying Games

So in case you guys haven’t figured out, I’ve decided to put Random World on hiatus for now until I can figure out a slightly more interesting way to handle it. I may construct a section for it on this site when I do my next renovation which will make it easier to handle for me.

If you have any suggestions on what or how you would like to play, please feel free. For those of you who don’t know what this is about, you can find the majority of information about Random World here.

Random World: The Adventure Game (Chapter 5)

by on Nov.15, 2010, under Gaming, Random World, Roleplaying Games

Last time in Random World…

(Just so you guys know, I’m going on vacation starting today. So you guys have the entire week to try and think about what you want to do. So I’m releasing the restricts on one sentence/one solution. Think up as much as you like.)

Chapter 5: A new companion in the Dark Forest

You look down at the dark pit below. You could take time to figure out what is down there. Perhaps if you had a wizard, you could cast light on a coin and drop it to see how deep it is. Or you could find some small woodland creature to test to see if the blue light still happens. Or you could screw preparation, scream “LEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEROOOOOOOOY JEEEENKINS!!!!!” and drop like a rock into the darkness.

While your shout of triumph last for at least two seconds, it sadly does not last the entire duration of your drop. The blue light does not appear again but your leg still remains numb and kind of floppy, of course it wasn’t all that useful for flying anyway. After the ten second mark you begin to wonder if the hole has a bottom. And where is your new companion? Its completely dark, although you can see the hole you fell through slowly growing smaller above.

Then you hear a rather loud crack, followed by a very quiet, tiny sounding “Owwww!” echoing from below.

Current Points of Interest
It’s too dark to see anything! Oh know I hope there aren’t any grues!

Random World: The Adventure Game (Chapter 5)

Last time on Random World…

(Just so you know, there was a error and you guys missed an achievement announcement even though your card was updated. Here is the announcement:

[Achievement: More Then Meets the Eye – Searched an area for exits beyond just the obvious and succeeded.])

Chapter 5: A new companion in the Dark Forest

“Ah ha! A Trap Door. Obviously, it is a trap.” you declare to your aqua colored companion knowingly. Despite this declaration, you lift your foot and bring it down hard on the wooden floor door that is likely trapped.

“Well that makes sense.” the aqua army man on your shoulder states. Then he blinks in surprise as you bring your foot down on the Trap Door. The wood creeks for a brief half of a second, and then gives way. Gravity, having no sense of humor, decides to continue exerting itself and your foot falls down into the hole, followed by the rest of you.

“Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh…..” the aqua army man says as he loses his perch on your shoulder and falls through the trap. There is a brief flash pale blue of light and he stops screaming and falls into darkness.

You, on the other hand, find your leg dangling into the whole, while body keeps you from falling fully in. It is a painful half split position you find yourself in, and to make things worse, after the flash of light, you loose all feeling (and control over) your dangling leg.

[Gained: Injury: Numb left leg.]

Current Points of Interest
Not much…
Obvious Exits
North – Into the Dark Forest.
Up – Back up the mountain where you came from.
Trap Door – A Wooden Trap door near one of the trees framing the entrance of the Dark Forest.

Chapter 5: A new companion in the Dark Forest

Your eyes narrow to conspiritial slits and you reply, “For I think that is where the evil bunny dentists are, and long ago I swore my revenge upon them. I’m sure those same dentists that tend to the long sharp bunny fangs also gave teeth to that red winged gopher back there.” to your tiny companion. You then begin to peer around the entrance to the forest, attempting to discern a less obvious entrance.

The aqua army man nods his head slowly. “Oh evil bunny dentists huh? That’s quiet a quest. It is a quest right? Because I don’t think you’re allowed to enact revenge upon a group without an official quest on your character card.” You can feel the tiny aqua man decide to sit down on your shoulder now as you wander around the area. Your feet crunch a few leaves and sticks as you pass by one of the huge ugly trees when you suddenly step down on something distinctly not dirt, leaf, or tree. Below your foot you find a wooden trap door, half covered in leaves.

Random World: The Adventure Game Re-Intro

by on Nov.11, 2010, under Random World, Roleplaying Games

Welcome all to a game already in progress. Random World is a semi-collaborative text game that was priorly being run exclusively through Google Buzz but I have no shifted to The Singularity simply because I kind of got tired of being limited to Google Buzz’s text only entry with 1 hyper link, and my players were losing the posts in the shuffle of Google Buzz. Since my posts here get echoed on my Google Buzz account, I’ve decided to move the game to my blog.

For those of you who are new, follow this handy link which will explain the entire game to you AND provide easy to click links back to the beginning of the game so you can catch up with what is going one, not that it matters that much.

If this sounds interesting to you, then, by all means, lets start playing!
