Ultimately I was impressed with the first stage, and less so with the second. The third was a masterpiece of scripting but I was hoping for a slightly more interactive reveal. That being said it is utterly awesome that they got Ellen Mclain to make custom lines for GlaDOS!

For those of you who aren’t familiar with the game Team Fortress 2, it is a video game produced by Valve. It is a rather violent yet hilariously fun game as exposed by these videos Valve has produced introducing the various character types one can play in Team Fortress 2. I’ll be posting one a day until they are done, but if you don’t want to wait can see them all on Valve’s YouTube channel or you can see all the ones I have posted by clicking here.
Okay okay so the Sandwich isn’t actually a character. This a joke referencing The Heavy’s love of sandwiches. It is also a placeholder as the final TF2 class, the Pyro, doesn’t have a Meet the video yet. But when it does release I’ll be sure to post it here for you.
This ends are series on Team Fortress 2 for now. Hope you enjoyed it!

Soldiers are the classic character type in team shooters like TF2. It’s hard to made them distinctive since they’re supposed to be the guy good at anything. Hard, unless you make him a scary sadistic bastard.

So I admit, explosive are a great way to kill a lot of people but you’d have to be crazy to want to use them on an ongoing battlefield. Good thing he is crazy.

Scouts are the kind of classes I usually like to play in Team Fortress style games. Speed can get you anywhere, even out of the path of a bullet!

The interesting part about the medic is that he really isn’t a medic, he is a mad scientist who just happens to like his fellow team mates enough to join them on the field. Now if that is a good thing or not…

The engineer is the class I would most likely be if Team Fortress 2 was a real life game. I mean really who wants to actually have to shoot a gun when you can make them shoot themselves?

I’m a big fan of stealth games and the Spy seems to be the master of that. Most of the grief-ing videos I see online involve the spy.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with the game Team Fortress 2, it is a video game produced by Valve. It consists of players selecting specialized character types and then grouping up into teams and shooting at each other with guns, bombs, missiles, and even knives. It is a rather violent yet hilariously fun game, primarily played online. Valve has (or should have) won awards for the game play and visual aesthetics presented in Team Fortress 2 and I’m about to show you why.
Valve has produced several video introducing the various character types one can play in Team Fortress 2. They’ve been releasing these videos slowly, two coming out only recently, years after the game was release, but all of them are hilarious. I’ll be posting one a day until they are done, but if you don’t want to wait can see them all on Valve’s YouTube channel or you can see all the ones I have posted by following this link.
The Heavy has to be my favorite of all the characters, hence why he is first. He is also one of the only TF2 characters to appear in another game, TellTale’s Poker Night at the Inventory.
Comic: Portal 2: Lab Rat
by Nojh on Apr.14, 2011, under Comic Suggestions, Comics, Entertainment, Gaming, Video Games
Portal is a video game released by Valve Corporation. It featured unique game play in granting a the player the ability to create portals on flat walls that they could walk through and using this game play, made a short but incredibly fun game of puzzles in a first person perspective. To add icing to this, they created a small narrative about an insane artificial intelligence with incredibly witty and dark humor.
A sequel, Portal 2, is being released on the 19th of this month (April). Because of that Valve appears to have released a comic linking the two games:
Portal 2: Lab Rat [Gallery]
Portal 2: Lab Rat [PDF]
It is a very well done comic, although I am not sure if it is cannon or not. I do not suggest reading it if you haven’t finished Portal though, or at least know the ending. That being said it is an excellently drawn and written comic.
You can also find downloads of desktops and such of the comic here.
